Semarang, April 9, 2025 – In a significant move to enhance the synergy between academia and industry, and to support the implementation of the World Class University (WCU) Program, the Faculty of Animal and Agricultural Sciences (FPP) at Diponegoro University, through its Master’s Program in Animal Science, held a strategic event featuring an industry guest lecture and a discussion on initiating international collaboration with Kemin Industries.

Kemin Industries, a global company based in Iowa, USA, specializes in animal nutrition and health. The event, held on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, was divided into two key sessions.

The first session featured two prominent industry practitioners from Kemin who delivered lectures on current trends in feed additive technology. Ir. Ihsan S. Rabbani, S.Pt., IPP presented on “Needs and Technological Developments of Feed Additives in the Ruminant Industry”, highlighting the critical role of feed additive technology in improving feed efficiency, livestock productivity, and health in today’s modern animal husbandry sector.

Following this, drh. Siti Fatimah delivered an insightful talk titled “Unlocking Poultry Potential: The Essential Role of Feed Additives”, focusing on the vital function of feed additives in enhancing poultry performance and addressing sustainability challenges within the global poultry industry.

The second session centered on a collaborative discussion aimed at initiating a partnership between UNDIP FPP and Kemin Industries. The discussion explored potential collaborations in research and development, as well as support for technological innovation in animal husbandry and animal health.

Dean of FPP UNDIP, Prof. Sugiharto, S.Pt., M.Sc., Ph.D., emphasized the importance of such engagements as part of the faculty’s ongoing efforts to expand international networks and equip graduates for global challenges in the livestock sector.

“We are highly enthusiastic about this collaboration as a concrete step toward strengthening industry-based education and enhancing UNDIP’s role as a world-class university. This partnership is expected to bring broad benefits, not only for students and academics, but also for the development of the global livestock industry,” said Prof. Sugiharto.

This initiative marks a key milestone in UNDIP’s journey toward becoming a World Class University, especially through strategic international partnerships in critical sectors such as animal science and health.

By organizing this program, FPP UNDIP reaffirms its position as a leading center for the advancement of science and technology in agriculture and animal husbandry. The event also provided a valuable opportunity for students to gain industry insights directly from top professionals, sparking inspiration and broadening their access to future collaborative programs and industrial exposure.
