Semarang, October 30, 2025 — The Faculty of Animal and Agricultural Sciences (FAAS) of Universitas Diponegoro through Tropic Research for Optimizing Productivity and Innovating Conservation of Livestock (TROPICAL) held an International Research Group Joint Collaboration activity as part of the World Class University (WCU) Program. The activity entitled “Kick-Off TROPICAL Research Group: Enhancing Scientific Data Visualization with R and JAMOVI” was held on Thursday, October 30, 2025, at the Oak Tree Emerald Hotel & Convention Semarang.

In addition to being a forum for international research collaboration, this activity also marked the official inauguration of the TROPICAL Research Group through the Decree of the Dean of the Faculty of Animal and Agricultural Sciences, Universitas Diponegoro Number 21/UN7. F5/HK/X/2025. The establishment of this research group is an important milestone for FAAS UNDIP in strengthening research capacity in the field of tropical livestock, productivity optimization, and biological resource conservation innovation.

This event was attended by researchers from within and outside the country who are members of the international research network TROPICAL. In addition to the inauguration of the formation of the TROPICAL Research Group, it was followed by a workshop with Mr. Pardomuan Robinson Sihombing, an active researcher and academic in the field of data science, biostatistics, and quantitative methods, who has contributed widely through various reputable scientific publications.
Through this activity, participants gained intensive training in scientific data visualization using R and JAMOVI software, two statistics and data analysis platforms that are increasingly popular in modern cross-disciplinary research. In addition to the main training session, this activity also presents a “Data Clinic”, where participants can bring their own research data to be consulted directly with their experts. This session is expected to strengthen the ability of participants to be able to process, analyze, and present data effectively, accurately, and in line with open science principles.

This activity is part of the efforts of the Faculty of Animal and Agricultural Sciences UNDIP in supporting the mission of the World Class University (WCU), strengthening international research networks, and increasing the academic visibility of Universitas Diponegoro at the global level. Through this program, it is hoped that sustainable research collaboration will be created between UNDIP and international partners in the fields of tropical livestock, productivity, and biodiversity conservation. The Faculty of Animal and Agricultural Sciences UNDIP is committed to continuing to develop academic and research capacity based on global collaboration, in line with the university’s vision of “Superior Research University”.
