A strategic academic visit by UNDIP lecturer marks the beginning of a joint research initiative to strengthen global collaboration and innovation in food technology.
As part of the World Class University (WCU) Program at Universitas Diponegoro (UNDIP), particularly under the International Collaboration scheme with Top 200 QS World University Rankings (WUR) institutions, Nurul Hasniah, S.T.P., M.Sc., a lecturer from the Food Technology Study Program, Faculty of Animal and Agricultural Sciences, Universitas Diponegoro undertook an academic visit to the Department of Food Technology, Faculty of Science, Chulalongkorn University, Thailand, from May 27 to 30, 2025.
Chulalongkorn University, consistently ranked among Asia’s leading universities, is internationally recognized for its cutting-edge research and innovation in food technology. The visit aimed to strengthen UNDIP’s global research presence and foster innovation through strategic academic partnerships.
During the visit, Nurul Hasniah met with Dr. Sarisa Suriyarak, a renowned expert in food colloids and her former academic advisor, to discuss opportunities for collaborative research and joint publications. On the following day, she held a meeting with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chaleeda Borompichaichartkul, a specialist in drying technology, microencapsulation, and functional foods, to discuss potential cooperation in these research areas as well as facilitating access to Chulalongkorn’s state-of-the-art laboratories. Both meetings highlighted strong mutual interest in establishing a sustainable and impactful research collaboration.
Prof. Dr. Chaleeda Borompichaichartkul expressed her enthusiasm, stating, “We warmly welcome this collaboration with Universitas Diponegoro, which will open new doors for joint research and innovation in food technology.” Echoing this sentiment, Nurul Hasniah remarked, “This partnership is a promising step for UNDIP to strengthen its international research network and contribute meaningful advances in food technology.”
This inaugural visit marks a significant milestone in the collaboration between UNDIP and Chulalongkorn University. It lays the groundwork for a long-term partnership dedicated to advancing excellence in food technology and fostering regional and global innovation.
