An issue circulating on social media claims that Timor deer in breeding center of Faculty of Animal and Agricultural sciences, Universitas Diponegoro are experiencing a lacking of feed. This information has sparked discussion among netizens. However, after conducting a direct check in the field, it has been confirmed that this news is not true.

As a quick response to the circulating information, the Central Java Natural Resources Conservation Agency together with the management of the Timor Deer Breeding Center of Faculty of Animal and Agricultural sciences, Universitas Diponegoro conducted a direct visit to the breeding center. The purpose of this visit was to ascertain the actual conditions of the breeding program, particularly in terms of feed availability and animal welfare. The monitoring results showed that the deer feed at the breeding center was adequate and optimally managed, with both forage and concentrate feed fulfil the animals’ nutritional requirements.

The Head of the Semarang Resort, Section of Conservation Area 1 Surakarta the Central Java Natural Resources Conservation Agency, Rimbawanto, said that there were no indications of feed lacking and hunger at the breeding site. “In general, the feed is adequate, both in terms of quantity and quality” he said during an inspection.

In addition, Daud Samsudewa, management of the Faculty of Animal and Agricultural sciences, Universitas Diponegoro Timor deer breeding center, said that “the Timor deer’s feed requirements at the breeding facility are always fulfil the need of Timor deer, We have also collaborated with PT United Tractors Tbk to provide feed for the Timor deer so that their feed requirements are adequately, this is a form of our commitment at the Faculty of Animal and Agricultural sciences, Universitas Diponegoro breeding center to maintain good and sustainable breeding standards”
