Semarang, 7 July 2025 – The Faculty of Animal and Agricultural Sciences, Universitas Diponegoro, officially opened the Summer Course 2025 with the theme “Orientation to Diverse Fields in Animal Science in Indonesia”, which will run from 7 July to 10 August 2025. The opening ceremony was held in a hybrid format, combining an offline session at RSG Building F, 2nd Floor, Faculty of Animal and Agricultural Sciences UNDIP, with an online session via Zoom Meeting.

The event was inaugurated with welcoming remarks from Prof. Hadiyanto, Director of Reputation, Partnership, and Global Connectivity at Universitas Diponegoro, and Prof. Agus Setiadi, Vice Dean for Resource Management at the Faculty of Animal and Agricultural Sciences, Universitas Diponegoro.

An engaging presentation by Asep Setiaji, Ph.D. preceded the cultural performance, introducing participants to Indonesia’s diverse livestock sector and unique native animal breeds, providing valuable context to the course’s theme. The session was then enlivened by a special cultural performance of the traditional Javanese dance “Gambang Semarang,” which captivated participants and offered a glimpse into Indonesia’s rich cultural heritage.

The opening session was attended by approximately 80 participants via Zoom, representing various countries, including Indonesia, Pakistan, Ethiopia, Egypt, Hungary, Myanmar, China, Kazakhstan, Eritrea, and India. This highlights the strong international interest in animal science and the commitment of UNDIP to global academic engagement.

Over the next four weeks, the program will feature expert speakers from multiple countries such as Indonesia, Pakistan, Malaysia, and Australia, covering a diverse range of topics including Animal Biotechnology, Animal Genetics, Animal Reproduction, Veterinary Science, and Metabolomics.

In their speeches, Prof. Hadiyanto and Prof. Agus Setiadi expressed their hopes that the program will not only enhance participants’ understanding of animal science but also inspire collaborative research, joint publications, and foster long-term academic partnerships among institutions and researchers worldwide.

This Summer Course stands as a platform for knowledge exchange and global collaboration in the field of animal science, reinforcing UNDIP’s commitment to internationalization and academic excellence.
