June 1, 2022, along with Indonesia’s Pancasila celebration, the Agroecotechnology service team of the Faculty of Animal Agricultural Science, Diponegoro University, held a community service event on animal feed and fertilizer technology.
This event was held at the initiative of the Head of Kadirejo Village, Pabelan, Semarang, which has a vision to realize Kadirejo Agro Park as an educational tourist spot based on agriculture, animal husbandry, local wisdom and natural beauty on 9 ha of village land.
The head of Kadirejo Village, Mr. Riyadi, revealed that this community service activity from Undip team was the opening step, “After this, Undip lecturers are welcome to conduct research here, we will feel accompanied, and we are grateful, open ourselves, and the village for scientific research” he said when opening the event.
At the first session, the socialization was carried out by Mr. Dr. Ir. Sutarno who explained about the various kinds of animal feed that already exist in Kadirejo Village, namely indigofera, kaliandra, turi, gamal, Zanzibar, and lodho along with the concept of multistrata plants which is actually traditional wisdom, which are intercropping crop systems by utilizing differences in plant height. “By utilizing different plant heights, land utilization will become more effective because land can be used for food, shelter, and fodder at the same time,” said this senior lecturer in his presentation.
Second session was continued by a presentation on fertilizer making and bacterial propagation by Dr. Ir. Susilo Budiyanto, M.Si, ” I guess all of you are familiar with organic fertilizers and bacterial explanations, now at this sharing session, hopefully it can boost the enthusiasm to learn more about making and istiqomah utilizing the resources around (red-especially for composting), because in this village the availability of fertilizer materials is abundant “,
An experience sharing session by Septrial Arafat, S.P., M.P. on fertilizer making and bacterial propagation emphasized that failure to make fertilizer once or twice is normal. However, if you continue to try and learn from these failures, you might find an original way that only Kadirejo villagers have.
Lastly, Mr. Didik Wisnu Widjajanto, M.Sc, Ph.D., closed the event by saying that “FPP Undip Agroecotechnology lecturers welcome further cooperation, especially on research in Kadirejo Village, Pabelan, Semarang”. Hopefully a positive start on the celebration of the Pancasila will be able to make Kadirejo Village become Rejo.
