Universitas Diponegoro at the beginning of year 2025 was success to improve the rank based on EduRank in Animal Science sector from rank 1 in Indonesia and 4 in Asia on year 2024 to rank 1 in Indonesia and 2 in Asia on year 2025. This achievement must be maintained by Bachelor of Animal Science study program Faculty of Animal and Agricultural Sciences Universitas Diponegoro (BAS FAAS Undip). One way to improve the achievement is International Academic Networking (IAN). The IAN will give funding support with world class university program 2025 of Universitas Diponegoro.

One of the activities was done by Secretary of BAS FAAS Undip, Ir. Daud Samsudewa, S.Pt., M.Si., Ph.D., IPM. is International Academic Networking start on 23 February to 1 March 2025 in University of The Philippines Los Banos and Southeast Asian Regional Center for Graduate Study and Research in Agriculture (SEARCA).

The first activity is international community services was held on Monday, 24 February 2025 in Philippine Carabao Center at University of The Philippines Los Banos with the theme “Improvement the frozen semen quality in Philippine carabao center UP Los Banos Philippines to support SDGs 2”. Beside the international community services, in this meeting it was also agreed the academic collaboration started with field work activity of students of BAS FAAS Undip on January 2026. “This community services support as especially to improve frozen semen of carabao as product of our institution”, said Thelma A. Saludes, Ph.D., Agricultural Centre Chief IV PCC.

The continuation activity placed in Villegas Hall Animal and Dairy Science College UPLB is socialization of Diponegoro Global Scholarship (DGS) for the prospective Master and Doctor of Animal Science students. “This socialization of scholarship opens up the opportunities for UPLB students to continue their study in Universitas Diponegoro”, said Dr. Renato S.A. Vega, Professors of Animal Science UPLB Philippines.

Daud Samsudewa also joined with workshop Agri-innovator program held by SEARCA on Tuesday to Thursday, 25-27 February 2025. This workshop followed by 21 innovators from 6 ASEAN countries including Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, Myanmar and Vietnam. The workshop resulted in the improvement of innovation in animal science entitled “Livestock Daily Living, the way to improve the independence of special needs children to reach their bright future”. Daud Samsudewa also awarded as 2nd Best Pitching in this workshop.

The last activity of international academic networking is discussion about continuation of Memorandum of Understanding between UPLB and Undip with Chancellor University of The Philippines Los Banos, Jose V. Camacho, Jr., Ph.D. and Office Institution Linkages UPLB Supervisor, Prof. Nica Arganosa. “Continuation of collaboration in between UPLB and Undip must be optimum and give impact to both institution”, said Chancellor Camacho, Jr., Ph.D.

“The international community services, research and academic collaboration will improve the existence of BAS FAAS Undip”, said the Head of BAS FAAS Undip, Ir. Rudy Hartanto, S.Pt., M.P., Ph.D., IPM.
