Diponegoro University (Undip), Semarang, August 5, 2025 – As part of its commitment to supporting the internationalization of higher education, the Master’s Program in Animal Science, Faculty of Animal and Agricultural Sciences, Diponegoro University, organized the Student Go International program at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) on July 19, 2025. The program was attended by two students and one accompanying lecturer.

This initiative aims to broaden students’ global perspectives, strengthen international collaboration, and enhance the competitiveness of graduates in an increasingly globalized world. The activities included a guest lecture, laboratory visits, academic discussions with UPM students, as well as educational tours of the UPM campus and research facilities.

In his remarks, Professor Sugiharto, Dean of the Faculty of Animal and Agricultural Sciences at Diponegoro University, emphasized that this program is a strategic step in preparing graduates who are not only competent at the national level but also ready to compete internationally.

“We believe that this international experience will provide added value for our students in building academic networks, enriching cultural perspectives, and enhancing the quality of learning in a holistic way,” said Prof. Sugiharto.

Universiti Putra Malaysia, one of the leading research universities in Southeast Asia, was chosen as a partner for its strong reputation in animal science and agriculture, as well as its commitment to international collaboration. Through this program, students gained first-hand insights into the education and research systems of a neighboring country, while also opening opportunities for future cooperation in the form of student exchange, collaborative research, and faculty mobility.

This activity is part of the regular agenda of the Master’s Program in Animal Science at Diponegoro University in support of the Merdeka Belajar–Kampus Merdeka initiative and the development of globally minded graduates.
