Three students from Diponegoro University (Undip) won first place in the HIPMI Business Competition in an entrepreneurial business competition organized by HIPMI PT. Telkom. The purpose of this competition is to create business ideas with creative and innovative concepts in the Industrial Era 4.0. The three students are I Kadek Hari Kesuma (Food Technology-Faculty of Animal Husbandry and Agriculture), Amanda Triandani (Food Technology-FPP), and Honey Nathania Marsela (Food Technology-FPP).

According to Hari, this type of food and beverage business was chosen because they came from the Food Technology S1 Study Program. They want to create a business idea by selling health supplement drinks. “We are promoting business innovations in the food and beverage sector,” he said, quoted from the Undip page, Monday (12/27/2021). “Actually, in this competition, we can choose one of the various existing business fields, such as food and beverage, fashion, automotive, electronics and others,” he added.

Meanwhile, the title of the business proposal presented was IMUNISI: Immune Enhancing and Stamina-Enhancing Supplement Drink from the Combination of Lime Leaf Extract and Cinnamon. The reason is because lately, the world is experiencing a Covid-19 pandemic and it causes the immune system to decline. One way to strengthen the immune system is to consume antioxidants.

This product contains antioxidants obtained from lime leaf extract (Citrus aurantifolia) and cinnamon (Cinnamomum burmannii). Lime leaves contain bioactive compounds such as:

1. alkaloids
2. phenolic
3. saponins
4. tannins
5. steroids
6. flavonoids

Meanwhile, cinnamon contains chemical compounds such as:
1. phenol
2. terpenoids
3. saponins

which acts as an antioxidant. According to him, competition and education are two important and interrelated things. Education is the main key for us to think critically and credible in solving a problem. When you get knowledge, it would be nice to implement that knowledge by participating in existing competitions.
“Don’t be afraid of failure, be afraid of never trying and not being able to enjoy the process. Victory is pride for someone, where they are able to conquer the obstacles they face before reaching it,” said Hari.
